There are times when life feels heavy-going.
You might be in the thick of midlife, perimenopause, or a big change in work, home, or relationships. You might be caring for others, managing health, or simply feeling stretched in too many directions. You might be a solopreneur (hello sister!), and solopreneurs carry additional loads.
The Nature Guidance programme is Eden Rooted’s space for those times. At the moment, it is offered mainly as in-person workshops at Dilston Physic Garden, with the first one-to-one days the first downloadable resource, The Burnout Recovery Course, soon to be released.
The reason why it is so important is that nature is our oldest and best companion for life's challenges, and our most holistic being completely there for our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs, and for balancing them all out so that we can start to work from the perspectives we need. It's also amazing for helping us articulate for ourselves some of the things we find it hardest to to bring to the surface - how often do you come back from a walk having found the answer you needed?
So these are gentle, practical days. They combine time outdoors, simple plant-based supports, reflective activities, and a chance to work through what comes next.
Who this is for
Nature Guidance workshops are for women who:
-
Feel overwhelmed, tired, or stuck
-
Are in a significant transition: work, relationships, home, health, caring, identity, or direction
-
Want more than a talk or a lecture: a clear, gentle structure, a trusted guide, and an everyday with nature as ongoing support
-
Are drawn to nature as a source of steadiness and practical wisdom.
-
Would value a blend of conversation, garden-based activities, and simple, doable practices.
You do not need to be an expert in plants, gardening, or anything spiritual. You only need a willingness to slow down, pay attention, and allow the living world to become part of your inner conversation.

What a workshop day is like
While each workshop has its own theme, most Nature Guidance days at Dilston share a similar shape:
-
Arrival and threshold – tea, welcome, and a gentle settling into the garden.
-
Time in the garden – walking, noticing, and working with the plants, beds, and seasonal features.
-
Knowledge gifts – short, researched threads: plant stories, herbal supports, seasonal insights, folklore, or practical skills.
-
Reflection and making – working with words, images, or simple materials; creating something to take home.
-
Sharing and integration – space to notice what has surfaced and what you might carry forward.
-
A practice to take home – a small, doable invitation to continue the relationship with your own local place.
Days are intentionally unhurried. They are designed to feel like a living conversation between you, the group, and the garden.
