Service Description

History, stories, nature and foraging! From the famous Hadrian’s Wall Path, explore a slower, deeper experience of this extraordinary landscape on these seasonally-themed walks. Led by Dr Juno, a local permaculturist, nature coach and forager living within the Wall's influence, the walks blend seasonal plant knowledge, Roman landscape and folklore stories, and gentle nature-connection practices. You’ll learn to identify a selection of edible and medicinal plants, discover how the Wall’s history shaped the ecology around it, and leave with simple ways to reconnect with nature in your everyday life. ​ Choose from walks based around the wall from Magna, The Sill, Housesteads or Heavenfields, all of which can be reached by public transport (check your needs before booking). ​​​ Who teaches it? In-person with Dr Juno ​​ What should I bring? Water and refreshments A bag for any foraged, gathered items Journal and pen Weather-appropriate gear Appropriate footwear What happens? Booking essential! Use the online booking system to select a date and location. ​ Group maximum 10 NB: sheep and cows are everywhere in this landscape! Well-behaved dogs on leads welcome. ​​Parking for this event is at main Housesteads car park. NB we will not be entering the English Heritage site during the walk.
